- Teaching them about their true Kingdom identity
- Creating opportunities for them to personally encounter the presence of their King
- Equipping them to walk in the authority of the King
- Encouraging them to live a Kingdom life of holiness and purity
There is a saying, “Our children are the church of tomorrow”. That is exactly why we are losing well over half of our children when they are old enough to no longer be forced to attend church. What do I mean by that?
The world is very intent on discipling children. Unfortunately, most churches are not. We feed them a steady diet of the same Bible stories on repeat year after year, using them to teach a nice moral Bible lesson until age 10-12.
- There is no personal reality of belonging to the King
- There is no meat to feed their spirits
- There is no equipping them in the power of the Holy Spirit
While the world is saturating children from preschool on up with messages like “it’s okay to have two mommies” and “believe whatever makes you happy”, the church is busy making crafts and passing out snacks, thinking they can’t handle anything deeper until junior high or high school.
The following is a testimony from the parent of a preschooler.
Our 5 year old Amber preached the Gospel to my mother over dinner last week beginning with man being formed out of the dirt and how you have to have Jesus in your heart. She was quite detailed covering that God breathed into man. My mother was quite surprised. … she said that she learned it from Miss Laura upstairs.. 🙂 Even though that was cute it was real and it shows that God is doing and is going to do great things in our little ones. – Jeff Marion in Gulfport, MS.
We need get more serious about discpling our children than the world is, and to see our children as the church of TODAY, because for most of them, “tomorrow” is too late.

We had high expectations, but this has exceeded our expectations. When it was time to pray the children were running, literally running to go pray… – Pastor Leo
We all know the Church is not a building. The Church is the people who make up the Body of Christ. Could it be the reason we are loosing our kids in such huge numbers is because we allow them to go to the building, but we do not disciple and equip them to BE the Church?
For many years I have traveled around the world, training others how to bring children into these things.
Here are a few testimonies from these trainings.
Dear Laura, Thank you SO MUCH for all you poured out to us in the conference this past weekend. We are forever changed because you gave. May God pour back into you to overflowing, and on all your family as well! Sunday was awesome, we followed the service pattern you taught on and the Holy Spirit took us right into the Holy of Holies by the end of our time together. I feel like I could write a book already on all that God did! And we’ve just scratched the surface! Thank you again. We will keep you posted as the fruit of your labor unfolds in our lives, and in the lives of the children/families God touches through us! We love and thank you again. – Kurt & Paula Steffen, Bethesda Church, Ypsilanti MI
